melonen

melonencouch

hugs and a watermelon!!

Spending a night at Mc Donalds

a night at Mc Donalds

I did this Drawing at MC Donalds in Matsumoto, where we spent a night sleeping at 24 hours Mc Do.

We were expecting them to try and throw us out, but they didnt. They just quietly cleaned around us (as we were pretending to really be asleep) and we heard them saying “shhh… The gaijin are sleeping”.

When I woke up in the morning I just couldnt go to sleep, so I just got a hot tea and melonpan (?) for breakfast and did this drawing of two japanese ladies who were killing the time till the first train with a little nap at Mc Do on the opposite table.

Matsumoto is a really nice city, we were actually going somewhere else, but as we got off to change trains, we just decided to stay there. So we had no Idea it was an important historical city… They have a nice castle, it seems even the interiors are intact (unlike the Castle at osaka) but we didnt go in. we just tried to fish carp out of the pond around the castle ;) we met up with, cedric, the french boy we had met at shojis place in kyoto. next night we spend on some benches near the castle. Again people cleaning around us in the morning. As always when you sleep in a park for some reason. cedric was even tryin to put up his orange tent on the bench, which was apparently rather difficult.

Another thing I will never forget about Matsumoto is the shower story. But that I’ll tell another time.

Hope you enjoy and if there are any questions, comments, corrections, feel free to post them here.

drenched in rain, warmed by the sun

Have you ever walked home

On those rainy autumn eves

And let yourself be soaked

By the raindrops flooding down?

.

Did your feet ever roam

Barefoot amongst fallen leaves?

Burried memories evoked

By the sight of chestnuts brown

.

These hands clasped round a fence

My eyed search a boundless plane

My burning souls mute shout

Choked by daily lifes grey snow

.

Breathe in sunwarmed fragrance

Breathe out a restless minds pain

Stretch these fingertips out

To the winds currents – Let go.

something worth saying

red torii at miyajima

Have not tons of poets written

Of the stars, the sun, the moon?

Have not hundreds, thousands written

Of the wide blue sky at noon?

.

And do not ever more of them

Tell of passion, lovers pain?

Start in happiness and then

Turn to chaos, tears in vain?

.

Say, does every autumn poem

Mention fogg and rustling leaves?

Really, do not all of them

Bear some similarities?

.

Seems like all there was to say

Was long made into poetry

In a far mor pretty way

Than could be done by little me.

.

Therefore, pen, rest on the shelf

From this hand no more words shall flow

Till somewhere inside myself

There’s something for the world to know.

killing time

Before I had figured out the best way to kill time…

it had passed

away.

sun

There you are, first morning light

Neither hot nor very bright.

Tender warmth tickling my skin…

-Good morning

.

Heat! your weight pushes me down.

Your sheer radiance makes me frown.

I hope it were over soon…

-High noon

.

Fluffy clouds- a flock of sheep.

Sun  just playing hide and seek.

Patches of Blue framed in vine…

- Tea time

.

Small pebbles warming my feet.

Watching sun and ocean meet.

Slowly fading shades of light…

- Good night.
